I’m incredibly grateful to Art Alexander for selecting IQ Safety Solutions for his Local Legends feature in the Winnipeg Sun this past weekend. It’s an honour to be recognized for the work we’ve put into building something meaningful.
Looking back, what started in 2018 as a side hustle—working evenings and weekends to support small businesses with their health and safety needs—has grown into something I couldn’t have imagined. I recently passed the 2-year mark of running IQ Safety Solutions full time, which (ironically) still includes evenings and weekends! But it’s been worth every moment.
We’ve been fortunate to support small and mid-sized businesses with building and implementing health and safety programs, achieving and maintaining certifications, and providing structured coaching and mentoring for new safety advisors. We’ve also partnered with clients as their outsourced safety departments and supported larger organizations with serious incident investigations, legislative guidance, audits, and safety system updates.
While we’re just two years into full-time operations, I know we’ve only scratched the surface. But being recognized by the Winnipeg Sun—and most importantly, by our clients—as change-makers and culture-shifters means we’re headed in the right direction.
