I'm excited to announce that I'm joining RRC Polytech as a part-time instructor for the Safety Audit and Analysis course.
This one feels full circle.
I graduated from their Occupational Health and Safety program in 2014. Since then, I've come back regularly to talk with students about what the career actually looks like; the realities, the skills that matter, the things that surprise you when you're in the field.
Now I get to do more than just visit.
Auditing is something I'm passionate about. ISO systems, compliance frameworks, finding gaps that actually matter. This is work I do daily as a health and safety consultant. Getting to share that experience with the next generation of safety professionals feels like the right kind of giving back.
The part of my career that's always meant the most to me is watching people grow. Whether it was as a regional safety manager or now as a business owner, I've taken pride in coaching and mentoring and continue to connect with mentees from my previous organization.
This role brings it all together; the program that started my career, the work I'm doing now, and the chance to help students figure out what kind of safety professional they want to become.
Looking forward to this next chapter.
